Wood or Trex Transcend?

There is a cost difference between wood and Trex Transcend. When looking long term at these two options, the return on investment is about 3-4 years. Trex Transcend will require no painting, staining, sealing or any other yearly upkeep to keep the deck looking beautiful. Typically, a wood deck loses value or requires upkeep after the first year. Trex Transcend will require only periodic cleaning, and backed by the 25 year Fade and Stain warranty, Transcend will last much longer than traditional wood.

What are the colors Trex offers?

Premium Tropical Colors (4): Island Mist, Tiki Torch, Spiced Rum and Lava Rock.

Which railing should I use?

Trex offers three railing options:

Trex Transcend railing available in 7 colors

Trex Reveal railing available in 3 colors 

Trex Select railing available in White only.

Should I get Fascia?

Fascia is a decorative trim piece that will accent the deck and cover any visible treated lumber. It definitely is a companion product to the Trex Transcend decking and railing systems.

Do I want to stain my Trex Deck?

No painting, staining, or sealing is required with Trex Transcend. Hassle-free maintenance takes the work out of weekends.

Do I need steps?

Check with your local building code official. These guidelines will slightly change in every jurisdiction. Steps are able to be completed using Trex Transcend decking, railing and fascia.

What about the spacing on a railing?

Trex Transcend, Trex Reveal and Trex Select railing systems are all available in two lengths – 6’ and 8’ sections.

Will my feet get hot on Trex flooring?

On an 85 degree summer day, Trex Transcend will feel slightly warmer than painted or stained wood. Common sense for shoes will apply.

Will Trex fade in color?

All Trex decking products are backed with a Fade warranty of 25 years.
